Obituary of Betty SZAUTNER

November, 18, 1936 – Calgary Alberta April, 26, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Betty Szautner of Calgary, passed away on April 26, 2016 at the age of 79 years. It is with a heavy heart we announce Betty’s passing on April 26, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Betty was known as Mom to many over the years but the joy of her life was through the love of her five children, Fran (John) Williamson, Debie Graven, Teri Paetkau, son Ron & Katherine (Dave) Lawrence and In-Laws Carolyn and Bernie. She was a proud grandmother of 16 and a great-grandma of 10 children. Betty will be fondly remembered for her kind smile and compassionate nature, she was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone. She enjoyed gardening with those beautifully manicured red fingernails and absolutely loved camping and the outdoors. Betty enjoyed travelling and appreciated any adventure and welcomed new opportunities. Friends and family are welcome to join us as we host a celebration in Betty’s honor on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the Round Room at the Riverbend Campground, 370 Ave E, Okotoks. A special thank you goes out to the kind staff and volunteers at the Southwood Hospice. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Society of Canada. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In living memory of Betty Szautner, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY
