Obituary of Jack Allen CAMERON

May, 18, 1936 – St. Johnsville, New York April, 25, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Dr. Jack Cameron, beloved husband of Jacqueline Cameron (nee L’Heureux) of Calgary, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 79 years. “Dr. Jack” was the most loving husband. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, his soul mate who he lovingly referred to as “the girl next door”; his ten children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Cindy (Merle Hartzler – Jenny & Armik Parker), Dr. Jeff (Carol-Ann Cameron – Courtney, Colby, Ryan), Jamie (Lori Cameron – Jason & Heather Cameron, great-grandchild Timothy, Christine & Avery Bowles, great-grandchild Anna, Brady, Hollie & Michael Bradford, great-grandchildren, Matalyn, Tyson, Lincoln & Evaline, Ashly, Ryan, Amanda, Luke), Dr. David (Tara Cameron – Danielle & Josh Curah, Rachelle & Adam Lazenby, Joshua & Nikole, Jeremiah, Elijah), Michelle (Al Coulter – Alissa, Spencer, Jacqueline, Grace) Marie (Bobby Fitzsimmons -Christopher & Amy Greyell, great-grandson Jackson, Mathew) Lisa (John Sloot – Ken & Lea Sloot, Colten, Cody), Dwight (Maria Cameron – Elizabeth, Therez, Patricia, Peter, Robert, Karl, Magdalena), Tommy Cameron, and Lianne (Ramon Vrielink). He was also a compassionate and caring brother to his two sisters, Pat (Woody) Cuttler and Delta (Tom) Keinnon. The impact Jack had on those around him is too great to condense into this obituary… from driving a Calgary Taxi to learn his way around town, then starting Calgary’s Universal Ambulance (1964); his thirty-six years of practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Not to mention his zest for adventure and continuous support and love to all his children in their athletic (synchronize swimmers) and academic endeavors. No task ever daunted him. He was brim full of ideas which he frequently put to action. One of his more significant undertakings was the design, construction and operation of a unique paddle-wheel tour vessel: the Cassabella Princess / Sorrento Queen. Jack had a passion for life, talent for helping people, a kind heart and genuine love of God and his family. Being diagnosed with the muscle condition Polymyositis at age 56 he was soon forced into retirement. It is a progressive and irreversible disease that typically causes total loss of motor ability in five to eight years. With unconventional self treatment he beat the odds and, as described by a medical expert, became a medical phenomenon. With faith, unconditional love, family support, and his loving wife at his side, twenty-five years later, the disease finally took its toll. Out of love and the need to keep Jack well dressed, an enabling clothing project titled “SuperFly” was developed by Jackie. These custom clothing modifications enabled Jack and many care givers over his life time. He always looked like a million bucks!!! Although his physical presence is missed, his spirit continues to embrace all that know him well. His drive to enjoy life, give back and help others will continue to live on through the faith, life lessons, and values he instilled in all his children, grandchildren, and many others who were fortunate enough to be infected with his zest for life.
