Obituary of Anne Russell GROEN

GROEN, Anne Russell May 23, 1934 – Hamilton, Scotland April 27, 2016 – Calgary, AB Anne beloved wife of Eric Groen passed away on April 27, 2016 after a valiant 3 year battle with cancer. Anne immigrated to Canada in 1956 and first settled in Ottawa where she met Eric. They started their life together in 1959. They moved their family across Canada living in Winnipeg and then the final move in 1976 to Calgary. Anne worked all her adult life until retirement, finishing her accounting career with 20 years at the Glenbow Museum. She was a quiet lady, full of grace and a keen mind, no crossword was left unfinished. Anne and Eric spent their empty nest years travelling the globe and watching their grandchildren grow. Anne leaves to mourn and cherish memories of her, her husband of 56 years Eric, daughters Hellen (Norm Smith) and Linda Petiot (Scott), grandchildren Hayley, Russell, Alyona, and James; and son Harold Quinn of Toronto. A private family Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded through .
