Obituary
Obituary of Mary Frances MacKay
May 20, 1922 – April 25, 2016
Mary passed away on April 25, 2016 at the age of 93 years, the last of the “Greatest Generation” in the family. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin and brother Joseph and is survived by her three children Barbara (Grant-deceased), Sheila (Neville), and Edward (Judy), seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mary was a devout Catholic, active gardener, sometimes painter and often bridge player. She worked tirelessly as a secretary at St. Leo’s Catholic Elementary School from its inception to closure. Although she lived in Calgary for most of her life, her heart was in Victoria, BC where she was born and raised. Despite her frailty in the last few years she will always be remembered by her family as having an iron will and great strength, which we hope lives on in all of us.
