Condolences
I miss you so very much my sister my best friend. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. I love you more then words can express. God Bless you and keep you safe.
Until we meet again.
Totally hurts my heart finding out about Lori….I worked with her at her PT job with Alberta Back and Neck years back and loved her wonderful smile. We had many deep discussions about life and I was very unaware of her passing. Ashley I’m so sorry about your loss and letting you know what an inspiring person she was to me….God bless and with a heavy heart my condolences. Love Lisa Lobello
How very sad … I am so sorry to just hear of this! I too worked with Lori many many years ago at Caradon Windows and Doors. She was beautiful and for sure lit up a room!! Big Hugs to all of her Family!!
My deepest and most sincere condolences to the friends and family of Lori Chick. Working with Lori over the past few years has been an absolute joy. She had this light about her that always made everyone happy and cheerful, even when times were tough. She will be greatly missed.
Megan and I were so sad to hear of the passing of Lori – she was such a warm and accepting and positive person. Our deepest condolences to you Chris, your family and Lori’s family. In time the sadness will fade as the fondness of the happy times replaces it. Our thought are with you.
Our hearts goes out to Murray, Carole, Tim, & Lori’s family. So sorry to hear of your loss.
I’m very sorry to hear of Lori’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with her many, many years ago at Caradon Windows and Doors when she went as Lori Doherty. Boy! she was fun to be around. She was kind, generous and had a great attitude. I always chuckle whenever I think about her telling the office gang (Marlene, Maria, Paula, Susan, Gerard, Paul, Scott and a few others) that she’d been teased as “Lori Dorky” before. She’s missed.
I first met Lori while working at Elluminate, where she was known by all as the heart and soul of the office. It quickly became obvious why – her love for every person, every story, and every minute of each day was openly apparent when anyone talked with her. She gave constantly of herself, and had a smile thay everyone who knew her will never forget. Every day I stopped by her office on the way into work because it was the best way anyone could start the day – with one of her smiles.
My deepest condolences for Chris, Ashley, and all of Lori’s friends and family for losing such a beautiful person. She will always be remembered with love.
I was Lori’s and Chris hairstylist for a long time and introduced them. So happy that it worked and they ended up having a great marriage together. We spent many happy times with them camping, boating and jet skiing. Those were the greatest memories of our life. She was taken from us far to soon. Lori was a beautiful person inside and out. She will be greatly missed forever. Our deepest sympathy to Chris, Ashley and the family. Rest in peace our beautiful friend.
I had a chance to work with a wonderful and vibrant personality as Lori for around 2 years. One could feel the good vibrations, the life and energy around Lori. She was the one who connected everyone at the office and it was so nice to see her greet us good morning everyday we entered the office.
I feel really sad with this news. Please accept my condolences.
My condolences to you & your family Ashley. I was very sad to hear of your mother’s passing. You are in my prayers. Love & hugs Diane Van Vliet (Deanna’s Aunt)
Lori and I worked together a few years ago as executive assistants to the Blackboard Collaborate leadership team. Although we were based in different offices, she and I worked closely together with coordinating and planning quarterly leadership team meetings/events. My heart is broken over this news. Lori was an amazing person. Her elegance, grace and kindness showed in everything she did. My heart and prayers go out to her family and friends.
May God be with you always, Lori.
I worked with Lori for a short time, and loved her energy. A while ago, one of Lori’s best friend decided to have a little get together for her. I had not seen Lori for ages, and was excited to attend. As it was around Christmas time, I was asked prior to the party if I was willing to dress up like Santa for the occasion, and how could I refuse that opportunity. I had the time of my life that night, and was so happy to see her laughing at my (as Santa) shenanigans. I gave her a big Santa hug, and in my best Santa voice, I asked her what she wanted. She leaned in, and said “I want to live, but Santa can’t help with that, so I want to dance!” So we danced, and Santa was a horrible dancer.
I think that anyone who ever met Lori found her energy contagious. She laughed loud, and often, and people around her couldn’t help but get a lift from her attitude. She will always be remembered, because she is impossible to forget. She will be missed, and my condolences to her family and friends.
Dear Chris, Ashley, extended family and friends. It was an honour to know Lori over the past 17 months. She was an amazingly brave and positive soul in the face of cancer and therapies. I always looked forward to visits with Lori and learned a lot from her.
It is heartbreaking for me to know that one of a colleague and friend has left us. She was always there to give you a hand and a very genuine person. I will always missed her smile and optimism.
She will always be remembered not only by me but also the friends and acquaintances that she touched during her journey to this world. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family.
I am so sorry to hear about Lori’s passing. I will always remember Lori as happy, fun loving, positive and full of energy. Her smile was contagious. It was an honor and pleasure to have known her all those years at Elluminate. She will be sorely missed.
My deepest condolences.
I knew Lori for many years and the first time I met her was at her home in Calgary (even though we were both from the same home town). Ashley was quite young, and spirited, and Lori, as a single mother, had her hands full; however she raised Ashley into the amazing young woman she is today (and she was a handful!). It was always fun listening to her stories about Ashley, and her antics, and believe me, there were lots!
It was wonderful to see Lori find true love with Chris and to share her love with his children.
Lori and I spent many days driving to work together, having morning coffee before work, and just hanging out.
I have so many fun memories of Lori but one of the greatest memories is of her driving me to hospital, at the end of November, at 1 in the morning, with the snow coming down, as I thought I was in labour. Well I was in labour! Lori was there the entire time, by my side, to help welcome my youngest child, Brock, into the world. She reassured me that all his fingers and toes were there and that he was healthy. From that time on, we referred to her as Brock’s birth mum.
I don’t think I ever saw Lori not look beautiful and put together – even camping she looked great, while the rest of us had hair sticking up all over!
We will miss her bright smile, and her energy and excitement while gossiping over a glass of wine and bad chicken!
Love you Lori.
We first met Lori in 2001 and immediately saw what a wonderful person she was. She was the first person we hired to work with us at Alberta Back and Neck Rehab in 2002 and continued working with us until the time of her diagnosis. She was like family to us. All of the staff, as well as our patients, loved Lori. She was very kind and gentle and always had a beautiful smile. We are all so sad that this tragedy has happened to such a wonderful person. We all miss Lori and will always remember her dearly.
Our condolences to Ashley and Chris and family.
Truly an amazing one of a kind woman, she brought so much joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed and always remembered.
I had the pleasure of knowing Lori through her daughter Ashley. I would go over a lot while Ashley, our friend Kristie and I would study. Lori was always so welcoming and loved chatting with us girls. She was always one of the girls. I also went out to McLean creek to camp with her and the family a few times. Lori was a great human and will truly be missed. My deepest condolences to Ashley and her family.
We wish time spent with those we love could last forever. And in our hearts it will. As you go through this sad time, may you know how much others care. With deepest sympathies to the Chick family and all those who knew and loved Lori.
Words cannot express the loss of a such a wonderful, upbeat person.
Lori was a wonderful person to be with and her love for life was very contagious. She will be missed but never forgotten.
My Love and sympathies to your family at this time.
Lori always took such great delight in introducing her Auntie Sally and Uncle Michael to her friends, for we were only a year or two different in age. We’d laugh and giggle every time this happened. So many happy times we had watching Ashley, Ajay, Jacob and Mandi grow up together and make memories that only cousins can share. Camping, enjoying a glass of wine, family functions, laughing about silly things and visiting with her and Grama June while listening to the stories of Lori and Michael growing up together; these are the memories that will keep Lori near to us always. We are missing a bright light from our family circle.
Lori was a bright shining light, someone who made sure everyone felt welcomed and loved. I am so very sorry for your loss and the pain you are feeling. Sending love to you all during this difficult time. My deepest condolences.
I worked with Lori at Elluminate/Blackboard. Every morning Lori greeted us with a smile and genuine affection. She treated everyone like family and so it is with great sadness to hear of her passing. To her family you have my deepest condolences.
I was extremely privileged to spend so many wonderful moments with Lori!
She was a close friend and someone I always admired. Everyone that had the privilege to work or spend time with Lori knows that she made you a better person and the time you were able to spend with her was always very special.
I will miss Lori greatly but hold all our great memories and adventures close to my heart!
I worked with Lori at Elluminate/Blackboard. She was always there to greet us when we arrived, and she brought life to the office.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing. May you have comfort in your time of grief. Please accept my condolences.
I worked with Lori for several years at Blackboard, and my heart is broken with this news. Lori was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I’ve ever known. She was incredibly perceptive – she had a knack of seeing beyond the obvious and how things really are. But most memorably, she was fun — she liked to have fun, and she loved to help others have fun as well.
Somehow, this sad memory made me remember a particular game of Jenga on a cold March afternoon in the old office, and I still have a set of photos that captured the moment so well, and they were the first place I went when I heard this news. She empathized each person’s moves, and then when the pieces finally came down you could see her unbridled passion for life in her smile and laughter.
Lori brought light to many lives and she will be missed.
So sorry to hear about Lori’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. If there is anything I can do for you please let me know.
Lori, was the most amazing friend that anyone could ask for.. She was like a sister to me.. We have many incredible memories, and have had, many incredible adventures together.. There is a huge void that’s left in my heart and she will be greatly missed… Heaven has gained an Angel.. Rest in peace my dear friend.. God Bless you and keep you in his presence… Until we meet again… I love you like a sister.

Our deepest condolences. Lori was a beautiful lady inside and out. She lit up a room when she walked in.
I used to work with Lori at Elluminate/Blackboard and being a small office, we were like family. I’m so sad that we’ve lost such an amazing woman who no matter what, always seemed to have a smile on her face and always lit up everyone’s day.
She will be truly missed. My heart goes out to all of her colleagues, friends, and most of all, Chris and the rest of the family.
Unfortunately due to some work issues I won’t be able to make it on Monday, but I will be there in spirit.

No one will ever know how much I loved Lori and how much she meant to me. She bought so much happiness, joy and beauty to me and my family, and especially to my son Chris. She also provided me with a beautiful Grand daughter, Ashley, with whom I have a special relationship.
Rest in peace my darling girl. I look forward to the day I will meet you again – it will happen.
Your loving Dad-in-law. XXX
It truly was a pleasure to work with Lori for seven years at Elluminate/Blackboard. She was a shining light in our office: so kind, warm and welcoming to all. I am so saddened by her loss. She really was one of the special ones.
My deepest condolences to all who loved her.
Lori was my cousin, but was also very much a friend and was a staple in the family. She always looked forward to hearing what was new in everyone’s lives and took great pleasure in seeing the kids in the family grow up. Her energy, smiles and laughter were magnetic and will be very much missed. Lots of tears have shed as I think about the soul that has passed too soon. Rest in peace my dear Lori. You were loved by many and will be greatly missed. Until we meet again. xoxoxo
