Obituary of Martha Lynne MCINTYRE

December 29, 1953 – Winnipeg, Manitoba March 27, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Martha (Lynne) McIntyre. She Passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 62. Lynne is survived by her daughters, Shantelle (Kelsie) and Fiona McIntyre of Calgary, Alberta. Lynne is preceded in death by her parents, Josaphine (Jo) McIntrye and Donald (Don) McIntyre of New Brunswick/ Alberta. Lynne was born on December 29, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Jo and Don. Moving all over the eastern provinces of Canada in her youth. Her family later settled in the Maritimes, where she went to Millidgeville North High School in Saint John. This is where she began working for her father in photography for the city newspaper. From that a long and happy passion for volunteer work began, and went on to include; school events, bingos, casinos and other different fundraisers. She worked with the Royal Canadian Legion, and hundreds of hours of other mixed community and family projects that gave her a kind of notoriety for helping others. Always ready for a laugh and kind to others she was known for her love of rock and roll music, late nights, and a dedicated passion for science fiction and fantasy. A great lover of all her family, from her children and close adopted ‘family’ all the way down to the family pets, which were many, she will always be cherished through all she did, and she will continue to be in everyone’s hearts and memories. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive N.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. A reception and gathering will be held shortly after at the T & T Organettes Social and Cultural Association (Bay 24 2110 – 41 Avenue NE). Flowers, gift cards, and condolences may be brought to Fiona McIntyre at the Chapel or during the reception. There is no need to wear all black or a formal dress, please wear whatever you would like. Her favorite color was red so if you would like you could wear a piece as a tribute.
