Obituary of Derek PREECE

September 6, 1939 – Preston, Lancashire, England March 31, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta Derek Preece, beloved husband of Kathleen Preece (nee Molyneaux) of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Derek was born in England in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He worked at Burns Foods for 27 years and retired from the Calgary Board of Education in 2004 after 20 years of service. Derek was proud to be a Calgary Stampede Alumni volunteer having worked with the Stampede Show Band. Derek and Kathie spent the last 12 years between their homes in Okotoks and Hemet California. He had numerous friends in California and in Okotoks who will mourn his passing. Derek is survived by his wife Kathie; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lisa Preece; daughter and son-in-law Susan Taylor-Heward and Kevin Heward; grandchildren Allyssa Preece, Amy Preece, Cameron Taylor, and Matthew Heward; as well as extended family. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
