Obituary of William Rupert MACKIN

May 6, 1929 – LaFleche, Saskatchewan February 23, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta William “Bill” Mackin, beloved husband of Evelyn Mackin (nee Sigurdson) of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Bill was an Engineer and Geophysicist, and received a Professional Engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He was a lifetime member of the C.S.E.G., and A.P.E.G.G.A. Some of his hobbies included golfing, curling, Toastmasters, and sailing. Bill volunteered with the Calgary Stampede band committee for over 20 years. Bill is survived by his loving wife Evelyn; daughters Barbara Mackin (John Danyi) and Nancy Mackin (Robert G. R. Lang); grandchildren Dustin Ritz, Cassidy Ritz, Robert Mackin-Lang, and Anthony Derfler; great-grandsons Cash and Cole Ritz; sisters Rae Jordet and Virginia Vogel, and brother David Mackin. He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Robert Mackin and four brothers Ashley, Doug, Roger, and Bing. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
