Obituary of Hans REGTS

In loving memory of Hans Regts June 7, 1946 – February 24, 2015 A light is from our household gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled, Some may think you are forgotten Though on earth you are no more; But in memory you are with us As you always were before. Forever loved, forever missed, Love Diane, Janet, Susie and Brian. Hans passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the age of 68. Hans was born in Friesland, Netherlands and immigrated to Chatham, Ontario with his family. Hans leaves behind his beloved wife Diane (MacLean), to whom he was happily married for 45 years and his two daughters, Susan (Brian Znotins) and Janet. Many grandpets will be missing their attentive lap buddy! He also leaves behind his sister, Edith (John) Lubbers; brothers Henry (Sarah), Gerald (Oct. 20, 2015) and Gertrude (Nov. 2014), Edward (Teresa), George (Rose), Gord (Marg), Ben (Barb), John (Kathy). Predeceased by his parents Case and Harriet and sister Katherine. Hans started his banking career in his early twenties taking him to various Ontario cities, Regina,Saskatchewan and ultimately calling Calgary, Alberta home. He retired from CIBC in 2000 and after 6 months decided to join TD Canada Trust. Retirement finally came in 2012. He then enjoyed relaxation and got to see the world with his favourite travelling buddy, our son-in-law Brian. His family respected his wishes for privacy and did not hold funeral services but has greatly appreciated the unwavering support of family, friends and former colleagues. Hans will be remembered for his wicked sense of humour, low mumbled jabs, infectious laugh, love for all and for being the most amazing Santa Claus that anyone ever had the privilege of meeting (with all due respect to the man in red at the North Pole). There will also be a multitude of grandfriends missing their Papa. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
