Obituary of Ronald BERG

March 14, 1958 – Frontier, Saskatchewan February 7, 2016 – Okotoks, Alberta Ron passed away at the age of 57, surrounded by his loving family. He was born into the large family of Alice and Ed Berg in Frontier, Saskatchewan. At the age of 15, he left home to work in the Alberta oil patch. Ron advanced very quickly and was the youngest rig manager, field superintendent and operations manager the company had. In 1984, Ron met Marilyn and they were married less than three months later. They had two beautiful daughters, Cora and Sara. Ron was the ultimate family man, and his primary purpose in life was to provide and care for his family. Ron was a mentor to many people, and had an insatiable curiosity about life and the world around him. He never lost interest in the oil patch, and even after he finished working he stayed active providing insight and advice to those he cared about. He was an avid golfer, and loved getting out on his Harley for a Sunday ride. Ron fought hard in his 8 year battle with cancer, and during that time continued to go to the gym, stay positive, and amaze many of his health care providers. Ron was loved and respected by all who knew him, and he will be sadly, sadly missed.
