Condolences
I last saw George at the CSPG convention in 2015 at the long term members’ reception and enjoyed the opportunity to again have one of those relaxed chats on all manner of things. He provided a great example of leadership for many of his younger associates and those chats continue to influence how I work with those around me. Above all, through his humility he showed that capability and ego were not necessarily in direct linkage. My condolences to the family, I will not be able to attend the service on Feb 5 but my thoughts will be with you.
Velma and I were saddened to read that our old friend and collegue had passed. I worked in George’s planning group at Chevron in 1988 and 1989. It was a wonderful learning experience. George had a wide ranging and deep knowledge of the oil and gas business which he shared without reservation. His mentorship was greatly appreciated. George’s sense of humor and generally positive attitude to business and life was inspiring.
We extend our condolences to Betty and the family but celebrate our friendship with one fine gentleman. We regret we are not able to attend the service on Feb 5.
