Obituary of Gordon Robert GREENBERG

April 27, 1946-January 8, 2016 Dr. Gordon Robert Greenberg passed away peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital on January 8, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Sally and Morris Greenberg and his cousin, Jeffrey Secter. He is survived by his aunts Alice Abells, Ruth Secter, and Laverne Gelmon, his uncle Jack Cohen and his first cousins Jocelynn Engle, Sandra Cohen, Cayla Cohen, Robert Abells, Susan Abells, Shep Secter, Danny Secter, Reesa Gelmon, and Debbie Jeroff. Gordon was a Physician and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Toronto General Hospital and then at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was a leader in the Canadian and International Gastroenterology Community. Through his research, he advanced the understanding of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and enhanced the care of IBD patients everywhere. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Toronto. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, (North East Corner of Highway 22X & 37th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. with interment to follow at 37th Street Cemetery.
