Obituary of Howard Michael VERBEURGT

VERBEURGT, Howard Michael September 17, 1939 – Ceylon, SK December 29, 2015 – Airdrie, AB Howard Michael Verbeurgt beloved husband of Kathleen of Airdrie, AB passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Howard lived in Airdrie and worked at various Airdrie area businesses since 1959. He was a member of the Airdrie “Lion’s Club” for fifty years holding several positions including president. When not volunteering or working he loved spending time with his family, farming, gardening, camping, fishing and collecting/tinkering with vintage cars. Howard is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years Kathleen; his children, Darcy (Karen) Verbeurgt, Karsten Verbeurgt, and Betty (Trevor) Breitenbucher; his grandchildren, Max and Jillian Verbeurgt and Nicole, Katey and Amber Breitenbucher; his siblings, Irene Caldwell, Prosper Verbeurgt, Arnold Verbeurgt, Doreen Armstrong and Gilbert (Rosemarie) Verbeurgt; his in-laws Jerry (Sharon) Jensen, Frank (Carly) Jensen and Kristine (Dave) Cunningham; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Howard was predeceased by his parents Albert and Gabriella Verbeurgt; his brothers-in-law Lance Caldwell and Barry Armstrong; and sister-in-law Eileen Verbeurgt. Funeral Services will be held at Airdrie United Church (212 – 1st Avenue N.E., Airdrie, AB) on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through .
