Obituary of Angelo Victor POZZI

June 3, 1921 – Blairmore, Alberta December 16, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta It is with sad hearts that we announce that Angelo Pozzi of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Angelo left his hometown of Blairmore, AB and served in WWII as part of the Signal Corps. in the Canadian Army. After leaving the service he moved to Calgary in 1949 and attended SAIT where he studied to become an electrician. Angelo met Maria shortly after she bravely immigrated to Calgary in 1954, and together they raised their family in the community of Renfrew where he was well known as the local electrician and handyman. He worked for Union Packing for over twenty years and retired from Alberta Processing Company in 1986. Angelo was dedicated to his faith and a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus where he served a term as Grand Knight. He was very active in the O.L.P.H Parish community as a singer and also as their choir director for many years. Angelo enjoyed making tomato sauce, tinkering in his garage, spending summer vacations in the Crowsnest Pass and the BC interior with family. He especially loved making wine, sharing it with family and friends, and opening his home to all near and far. Angelo is survived by his children and their spouses, Anne Pozzi, Robert Pozzi, Paul and Maria Pozzi, Stephen and Rosa Pozzi, and Mark Pozzi; four granddaughters, Christina (Paul Morton), Carissa, Isabella, and Gabriella; a great-granddaughter Kenzie; two sisters, Mary Catonio and Helen Yanota and numerous loving extended family. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty-eight years, Maria Pozzi in 2013; his parents, Carmen and Rinaldo Pozzi; his siblings, Alphonse Pozzi, Bruno Rinaldi and Ronald Rinaldi. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (400 Edmonton Trail NE) on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through .
