Condolences
Randy and family:
Just learning of this unfortunate event. Marilyn and I were contemporaries at the old Gray Street church/school in Winnipeg back in the day and I was blessed by her cheerfulness and beautiful singing voice. Last time I saw her was at Camp Hope a couple decades past. I look forward to hearing her sing again, this time around with the heavenly choir.
What a shocker to receive the news of Marilyn’s death. I remember her going back to my teen years when from Brandon we’d go into Winnipeg for youth rallies – I recall her singing in the choir.
After one of her solos at church I would tell her she should cut an album – guess it happened after I lost touch. Sure would like to get a copy if it’s available on CD.
What a loss – my sympathy to you Randy, and to Ken, and other family members. Sure do look forward to the day when we’ll all meet again.
Randy,
My deepest condolences to you and your family in this time of sorrow. May Marilyn’s soul rest in peace and may God give you strength during this time of need.
I am still shocked and dismayed by the death of Marilyn, although that inevitable outcome was widely accepted. Marilyn was a fighter to the end. Fear, can be defined as an allergic reaction to the unknown. She had a profound immunity to it. She faced the unknown with courage, honor, and dignity. Her strength and sheer will to survive carried her far. Her faith in God carried her farther. Although, the family’s fabric of life has now a gaping hole in it, her legacy of love and friendship lives on. Every person that she touched was blessed with some facet of Marilyn’s being. They are gifts that can be treasured within each heart. I know that words sound hollow at this time of loss. The pain is real and deep. May God give you all the strength to weather this time of darkness and sorrow. God bless you all!
Dear Randy,
I was deeply saddened when I received the news of Marilyn’s passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Ms. Cameron was such a memorable teacher, I cannot begin to imagine the loss to your family. She will be missed by many.
Dear Randy and family,
It was with great sadness to learn of Marilyn’s passing. Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Marilyn was a joy to have on staff and you could bet on her full bellied laugh to lighten your day! She had an infectious sense of humour and saw the positive in everyone. Please know that she had an effect on all she met.
Randy, it is difficult to find words that can adequately convey our sorrow at this very sad time. We know Marilyn is finally at rest, but that will be meager comfort as you miss her every day. Our thoughts are with Jay, Mandy and Stacey as well. What a fighter Marilyn has been! And more than that, she has been an inspiration to so many – as you know. We will long remember her contagious smile, her love of music, and her upbeat personality; how she loved her family, her dogs, the horses; how she loved to entertain; how lucky we were to have so many happy memories of times with your family. She was one of the good ones, wasn’t she? Marilyn knew how to enjoy life and she made the world a better place. Our hope for you all is that you can find comfort every day knowing how much you loved and supported her. May you find the strength you need. We share your grief and send our love.
I was fortunate enough to have Marilyn Cameron teach me both drama and English at George McDougall high school. She was an amazing person who genuinely cared about each and every one of her students. I loved her classes so much, and Marilyn inspired me to go on and pursue English, drama, and teaching in university. She made everything so fun and relatable, and ensured that all her students knew how much she cared about them individually. I am so sad to hear of her passing, she will be missed by so many. I hope she knew just how many people she inspired and how many lives she touched.
Dear Randy and Family,
We were so fortunate to know and spend time with Marilyn on many high school choir trips (including Ottawa and Disneyland) and concerts as chaperones. She was an exceptional music teacher to our daughter Tiffany and an inspiration to all her students at George McDougall. She was an incredibly talented and special lady; beautiful inside and out.
The heartfelt tributes and slide show at her Celebration of Life today were so touching and provided a great reminder to live our lives to the fullest and never take anything for granted. May God bless your family and comfort you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Anita & Tom Armstrong

Dear Randy and Family,
Our hearts are heavy with sadness as we read of Marilyn’s passing. She lived life fully and touched our lives with her generosity of spirit and heart. Our children sang in her choir at church and always enjoyed working with her. We remember time spent in weekend dinners in your home, where everyone was welcomed and loved.
I will always remember her optimism and smile, which touched so many lives. My last memory of Marily will be of her smile, which I was blessed to witness this year as she was recovering from her surgery 1 year ago.
Blessing to each of you and know that although she is gone from here she will remain in each of our hearts forever.
Love, Jaelene and Jim

very sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. i remember her well from school in Winnipeg and at CUC. i also remember don’s death when i was at CUC. condolences to the family and friends.
I was a student of Marilyn’s at George McDougall High school from 2000-2004. It is with great sadness that I learn of her passing. She was a bright, positive light every day. She was one of my favourite teachers ever. I’ve not seen her since my high school graduation but I remember her very well. She was always smiling. Always inspiring her students to be the best they can be. I was unaware of her battle with cancer, so this news came as a saddening shock. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Cameron! You are loved and remembered by everyone you’ve touched.
I first met Mrs. Cameron in grade 7 at Muriel Clayton and had her as a teacher all the way through high school. She was an amazing lady with a contagious smile, if you were having a bad day she was quickly there to help make it better and make sure you had a smile on your face the rest of the day. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Cameron family and you will be miss Mrs. Cameron.
Mrs. Cameron is one of those teachers that you come across and you never forget.
She was kind, encouraging and a true savior.
She was an amazing woman and the world is short another beautiful voice..
Heaven gained the most beautiful angel.
Sorry for your loss to her family and friends, and to all of us who Mrs. Cameron has touched in one way or another.
Marilyn was a ray of sunshine and she certainly added more light, love and laughter to my life! It saddens me not to have her in my life anymore. We shared so many memorable moments and milestones together and they will forever be cherished. Cameron family, take comfort in your stories and memories of her. Hear her laughter and see her spirit shine in the eyes of her grandchildren. Her hands will forever guide you and her love will always be with you.
My love to all of you at this very difficult time.
Xoxo
Alison
Dear Cameron Family,
My name is Michael Foster. Marilyn was a teacher of mine at George Macdougall High School.
In Grade 9, I was approached by Mrs. Cameron and asked to try out for the school production of Footloose. I had never been in a musical before and was feeling sheepish about taking part in the play. But, of course, with her giant smile and radiation of good energy, there was no way I could say no to at least trying out.
After, the try out she seemed so very pleased with me and pushed me to join the school’s choir program as well as the play. Again, I couldn’t say no!
The following three years are memorably the best of my high school career because of joining her choir class. Her joy of music was infectious and her light hand guided me throughout the following six semesters. She had such amazing talent as a musician and teacher. And despite all the challenges I’m sure I introduced to her (how do you deal with the one kid in your class who had a 10 inch mohawk and a mouth like a sailor) she always treated me with respect and friendship.
She was such an amazing woman and I consider myself so lucky to have been taught by her.
I offer my condolences to your family and know that somewhere out there, she is sitting behind her piano with a smile, singing her heart out.
Sincerely,
Michael Foster
Your tribute here to Marilyn is really meaningful. As you go through this weekend and end with the service on Monday, our thoughts and prayers will be with you. May the fact that Jesus has His arms around you during this difficult time be a reality to you and give you the comfort and strength you need.
Dear Randy and family,
John and I enjoyed your family so much, and we are very sorry to hear of Marilyn’s passing. She was a wonderful person and I was privileged to be her friend for the few years we lived in Calgary. We look forward to that great time when we can reunite with those we love! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
