Obituary of Ryan Laine SHANKS

October 4, 1985 – Calgary, AB November 19, 2015 – Calgary, AB Ryan Shanks of Calgary, AB passed away suddenly on Thursday November 19, 2015 at the age of 30 years with his two best dog friends by his side. A true Calgarian, Ryan was born at the Holy Cross Hospital on October 4, 1985 to Gina Beck and Neil Shanks. Growing up, Ryan was both an active player and an avid spectator of all things sports and all things wheeled; skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, motorcycles, and trucks. Ryan loved trucks – the ‘whizzier’ the better. After attending William Eberhart High School and Notre Dame in Saskatchewan, Ryan went on to obtain his journeyman’s welding certificates in both Lac La Biche and Red Deer. It is there he found his passion. Ryan’s commitment to doing a job not only well, but precise and exact, along with his drive and dedication let to the start of his own successful welding company, RYCO WELDING. His life was one that was lived with so many amazing accomplishments and at times, too many challenges that he tried so very hard to overcome. Ryan leaves to forever remember and love him, his dad, Neil Shanks (Angela Pipe), his mum, Gina Beck (Glen) and half-brother Dylan, numerous family members and friends in Alberta and Ontario and his two “brothers”, Ricardo and Josh.
