Obituary of Keith Bill Marvin THORSON

THORSON, Keith “Bill” Marvin February 9, 1931 – Cabri, SK October 22, 2015 –Didsbury, AB Keith “Bill” Marvin Thorson, beloved husband of Theresa Vivian Thorson of Airdrie, AB, passed away on October 22, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Bill was born to his parents Roland and MaryEllen on February 9, 1931 in Cabri, SK. Bill and his siblings enjoyed their childhood growing up in Bow Island, AB. Bill spent his adult life living in Calgary, AB, Prince Albert, SK, Carstairs, AB and Airdrie, AB. On December 29, 1952 in Villeneuve, AB, Bill married the love of his life Theresa and from their union four children were born, making a lifetime of cherished memories. Bill’s career spanned over thirty-five years of service as a Hydrometric Supervisor for Water Survey of Canada. Bill was a member and past president of the Cosmopolitan Club in Prince Albert, SK. Bill had a keen interest in many things that included many years of curling. He loved going to the thoroughbred horse races, playing Monday night poker with his pals all the while enjoying listening to country music especially “Charlie Pride”. Together with his family, Bill enjoyed spending summers since 1985 right up until and including this past summer at their trailer at Pine Lake, AB. Bill and Theresa celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii, making it the best vacation with so many warm memories. Bill faced his greatest challenge of being a heavy cigarette smoker for many years but despite the hardship Bill was able to completely quit just before he retired at the age of 55 making him an inspiration to those who face the same challenge. Bill is survived by his loving wife Theresa; his three daughters, Peggy Thorson of Airdrie, AB, Linda (Victor) Labbe of Airdrie, AB and Maryellen (Michael) Herzog of Wilkie, SK; his son Blair (Linda) Thorson of Whitehorse, YT; his six grandchildren, Steven (Jennifer) Labbe, Michael (Anita) Labbe, Rebecca (Dave) Duchesneau, Mitchell (Leah) Herzog, Marshal (Megan) Herzog and Maxwell (Janelle) Herzog; his eleven great-grandchildren, Zane Labbe, Kohen Labbe, Sierra Labbe, Luke Labbe, Reef Duchesneau, Dax Duchesneau, Marley Herzog, Lilly Herzog, Kaitlyn Herzog, Riley Herzog, and Mason Herzog. Bill is also survived by his brother Jack (Geraldine) Thorson. Bill was predeceased by his parents Roland and MaryEllen Thorson; his two brothers Jim and Bob Thorson; his two sisters Geraldine Thorson and Mona Sykes.
