I would like to share my condolences and share to the family that Gary is the best Mentor and best Buddy I ever had in the pharmacy we met and worked together!
He was my trusted friend. Until he left the pharmacy and i went to my own career! He was the sweetest and adorable friend I had, we were so new in the country and he always asked about my children!!
Gary, I have been looking and asking about you!
But, sadly I found you here!
Remember the strawberry milk shake u always bring me!! Salute my friend!! I love you dearly my bestfriend! May God remember all the good things you have done to help them who needs help!!! I miss you n love you my friend! Dear Father God remember Gary Roberts Williams, my friend my mentor.♥️
I would like to pass my condolences to the family. Gary was a great member of the skeleton community. He was a great friend and was a crucial force behind me going to the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. He taught me the basics of Skeleton and contributed to the development of the Rocket Sled, (a sled design I created which was later purchased by S.A.I.T.) He was always a gracious host when I was commuting 3 hours to the skeleton track to train, and needed a place to crash. Gary worked in Brooks, Ab. for a while and we got together talking about old times because we lived nearby in Bassano. I heard from Woody three weeks ago that Gary had passed away and it saddened me. Paul Boehm, Scott McBride, Brian Taylor and I got together for few drinks shortly after the bad news for a “Gary Williams tribute”. We toasted to his original character and the impact he had on all of us. Even though he was a private person, we all respected his intelligence and his sense of humour. We laughed when we remembered when Gary stole Scott McBride’s thunder at Scotty’s retirement race by showing up with leopard underwear and suit – holding true to his belief that you needed just ‘skin to win’.
Gary was a wonderful, fun character who enriched the lives of so many of us. He will be remembered and toasted often.
I would like to thank Lori Sshebkar for writing me a letter.
Gary’s friend Pascal Richard
Dear Mr and Mrs Williams and family.
Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss of Gary.
I got to know Gary thru the sport of Skeleton but got to know him more as a dear friend when myself, Gaby, Charline and Mark junior moved to Canada, with out Gary’s kindness, generosity and wholeheartedly taking us in after landing in Calgary to find we had been ripped off by a supposedly business partner, Gary didnt hesitate in opening his home to us until I could get sorted. I will forever be grateful to him as our lives could well have been different from what they are today, however, you don’t need me to tell you that he was a kind, considerate gentleman. I truly am honoured to have known him and to have had him as friend. I am so grateful I managed to track him down before he went away again, I wish that he would have let me be the same friend to him as he was to my family and me. I did tell him that I would help him and never judge him, I tried to email him after we had been for lunch, but never heard back. My family will always remember Gary for the person he was, hard working, honest and generous, fun to be around and dependable. I hope that some of my words bring you and the family some form of comfort in this sad time.
All our warmest wishes to you and your family.
Mark, Gaby, Charline and Mark (Jnr)
Rest in peace my freind Gary and thank you, you will be remembered in our hearts
Mark Wood MBE
