Obituary of Carol Anne JONES

November 4, 1952 – Calgary, Alberta October 9, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta It is with great sadness I announce the passing of my wife Carol Anne Jones (nee Yurchevich) on October 9, 2015 at 5:00pm. Carol was only 62 years old. I was married to this amazing woman for thirty-three years and we shared so many wonderful adventures together. We found our dream home and settled on our acreage in Bearspaw where Carol enjoyed raising our children, making new friends, nurturing her vegetable and flower gardens and growing our house plants. Carol helped inspire our two boys Cameron and Craig with their studies throughout their school years. She also encouraged both boys to learn to play the piano and was pleased to see that they both participated in their school bands from elementary through grade 12. Carol also inspired the boys to participate in school sports. Thanks to her driving force they both have successful careers. Carol loved vacations especially cruising. Together we both cruised to Tahiti, Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean as well as the River Danube and a few years ago we even cruised to Mexico with the boys. Carol fell in love with the Shuswap Lake while vacationing there with her family. This love carried over to me and our boys as we spent eighteen consecutive years vacationing there. Last summer we returned there again. Carol enjoyed back seat motorcycling and endured hardships such as rain, hail and snow to name but a few. Carol loved hosting and visiting with family and friends, celebrating Christmas and other holidays and of course sipping wine! Carol was a voracious reader and would many spend hours reading novels. Carol will be remembered and mourned by all the people that she has touched be they family, friends, co-workers or hospital staff. We had so many wonderful times. I will sincerely miss her love and companionship. Carol is survived by her loving husband Douglas of thirty-three years; two sons Cameron and Craig, three brothers John (Pam), Joe (Frances), Greg (Linda); her sister-in-law Bev Monro; her brother-in-law Bob McLellan; nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her parents Doreen and John Yurchevich.
