Obituary of James Henry FLAGG
March 23, 1938 – St. Stephen, New Brunswick
October 9, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
James “Jim” Flagg beloved husband of Helen Flagg of Calgary passed away on October 9, 2015 at the age of 77 years.
Jim attended University St. Mary’s Halifax and later became an Army cadet with Carlton and York Regiment in 1955. Jim was in reserves until 1995. He moved to Alberta in 1960 and married Helen Anderson in November of 1962. Jim worked very hard for harvest half marathon in memory of his daughter, Tracey Flagg. He had a very strong passion for the Shawnessy YMCA as a member and volunteer. This was his second family. Jim loved to travel specifically spending time in Sandpoint, Idaho and Wailea, Maui.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Helen Flagg of 53 years; children, Laura (Paul Connolly), Scott (Joanne), Carrie (Carey Mendes); grandchildren, Ashley (Zach Tidsbury), Brandan, Carly, Logan, Morgan, Bella, Alexander, Camryn; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, and Skyler; and his sister Mary Flagg.
Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
