Obituary of Salvatore NORI

September 4, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
Salvatore Nori of Calgary passed away at the Mount Royal Care Centre on Thursday, September 4, 2015 at the age of 85 years.
Salvatore is survived by three children, Giuliana Ditosto, Rocco (Carole Ann) Nori, and Rosanna (Frank) Donohue; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of forty-one years Maria Nori; parents Rocco and Giulietta Nori; sister Fiorina Barracchini; son-in-law Giovanni Ditosto; and daughter-in-law Connie Nori.
Salvatore immigrated to Canada in 1958 and married Maria Barone on December 29, 1958. Salvatore worked for Cana Construction for many years until he retired in 1985. He was an active volunteer and member of Our Lady of Grace Italian Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved volunteering for the Calgary Stampeders football club selling game day tickets. He thoroughly enjoyed working in his garden growing geraniums and tomatoes for all to enjoy. He spent many weekends fishing with his family and grandchildren and enjoyed picnics and his wine making.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
