Obituary of Brock Abraham BAKER

November 27, 1922 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan July 25, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta Brock Baker of Calgary passed away peacefully at the Colonel Belcher Veterans Care Centre on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 92 years. Brock was born in Saskatoon on November 27, 1922 to Cameron and Ada Baker and grew up as an only child in Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Kerrobert. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1942 and served in England maintaining aircraft until the end of World War II. In 1951 he married Jean Muir of Yorkton and began his life long career as a sales representative, moving his family to Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Edmonton before settling in Calgary in 1964. Following retirement from Domtar Corporation in 1987, he and Jean enjoyed many winters as snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona. He was a long-time member of the Al Azhar Shriners and the Legion of Honor Unit. Brock is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Bob) Baker and Donna (Brian) Gies; his grandchildren, Shari (Paul), Lori, Kim (Josh), Peter, Dale, Michael (Tara), and Kyle; and eleven great-grandchildren. Brock was predeceased by Jean, his beloved wife of fifty-six years, in 2007. A Private Family Gathering and Celebration of Brock’s Life will be held in his memory.
