Obituary of Francesco RIZZUTI

January 15, 1925 – Sartano, Cosenza, Italy June 24, 2015 – Calgary, AB Francesco (Frank) Rizzuti, beloved husband of the late Maria Ada Rizzuti, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Francesco spent his early years in Italy toiling land, raising livestock and helping support his family while his father was away in the army. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 at age 29. He sacrificed his homeland, leaving behind his family and loved ones in pursuit of a better life. He married Maria in 1956. Francesco was a proud man who instilled strong values in his family. His work ethics were evident in all things he did. One of his greatest joys was gardening and tending to the tomato plants in his beloved greenhouse. He treasured time spent with family and friends, where he loved sharing stories and laughter, along with good food, a glass of wine and dolci (sweets). He was a quiet and kind soul with a big heart and a great sense of humor. Francesco is lovingly remembered by his sons: Angelo (Wendy), Guido (Maria), Mario (Marisa) and Tony (Carla); by his grandchildren Angelina (Aaron), Francesco, Brianna, Andrea, Anthony, Robert and Sabrina and his great-granddaughter Allegra. Francesco is also survived by his siblings, Ida Trombino, Angelo (Pina) Rizzuto, Carolina (Frank) Trotta and his in-laws Luigi Vigna, Elmiro Logullo, Caterina Petrelli, Lidia Capalbo and Vienna (Fernando) Giglio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Italy. In addition to his wife Maria, Franceso was predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Elena, as well as his sisters Maria, Paolina and Rosa.
