Obituary of Caleb HUANG

Caleb Huang 黄明達 (Wong Ming-Tah) July 18, 1936 – June 21, 2015 Caleb (Ming-Tah) was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was born in Seremban, Malaysia, the second son in a family of 4 sons and 1 daughter. His was a story of humble beginnings. He started his working life early in order to support his family. He had a passion for life and the opportunities life presented. Not surprisingly, he started as a bank clerk, worked his way up and retired from the same bank as the General Area Manager for the whole of East Malaysia and Brunei. All who knew him called him the “smiling banker” because of his friendliness, his caring nature, and he really always had a smile on his face! Ming-Tah married Mary Seow (Yin-Fong) in 1960. They have 2 sons (Sau-Wai & Sau-Leong), 2 daughters (Yoke-Mun & Yoke-Ping); sons-in-law (Graham Dracup & Craig Doubleday) and daughters-in-law (Ling Cheng & Sharon Lim); 4 granddaughters (Kimberly, Kyren, Emma & Jordyn); and 3 grandsons (Jason, Yian & Jonathan). His children and grandchildren are his pride and joy! Ming-Tah devoted his later life to ministering in churches throughout Malaysia together with Yin-Fong. He had been the Chief-Coordinator for Full Gospel Training Centre in Malaysia, serving tirelessly as he visited and helped out with the training needs of young, growing churches. Brothers and sisters-in-Christ everywhere referred to him as their beloved Uncle Wong. He was often invited to speak in churches, sharing the Word of God which he considered his greatest privilege. Always an adventurous spirit, in 2005, he and Yin-Fong moved to Canada to live close to their son Sau-Leong. He continued to serve in the local church here and had built up many friendships which he treasured. Ming-Tah will always be lovingly remembered as a compassionate and cheerful man of God who loved singing, studying and sharing the Scriptures; and a trusted, good friend to many. He is a testament to God’s Grace and Mercy.
