Obituary of David Joseph JAGER

September, 26, 1951 – Port Arthur, Ontario May, 17, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta David Joseph Jager, known to friends and family more simply as Dave, passed away suddenly at the age of 63. In 1971-1972 Dave began Technology studies at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute in Toronto. The following year he returned to Thunder Bay to complete his studies at Confederation College in the Electronics Engineering Technician Program. Dave loved his field of study, and upon graduation in 1973 was presented the President’s Award for academic achievement. Dave then worked at the University of Calgary for a combined total of 41 years. He began his career at Com Media working with the Communications Media department in 1974, until 1999 when he moved into Information Technologies. During more recent years he became very active in the folk music community. He would volunteer every chance he could at the Nickelodeon folk club, and even was on the board of directors for the Foothills Acoustic Music Institute. Dave will be forever remembered by his two children, Emily and Duncan, and his brother Larry. Dave was predeceased by his wife Nancy, his mother Christina, father Emil, and mother-in-law Jean. A Memorial Service for Dave will be held on June 21st 2015 at 1:30pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church (290 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.), the family wishes for it to be a colorful service, no black.
