Obituary of Barbara Lynn Marie HARRIS

March 12 1964 – Winnipeg, MB May 04 2015 – Calgary, ABHarr It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barb. Barb left many family and friends with a great void in our hearts. In a world where most people think of only themselves, Barb stood out as an anomaly. She was the person you want to see in the mirror, the truth and reality wrapped in a tiny package with power. If we were to paint a picture of Barb, we would speak of a rainbow. Many knew her as Barb, Barbi Doll, Nanny or Mrs. Hobbit. Barb had an unconditional love for family, friends and her pets Sasha (Persian cat) and Czeska (pit bull). Barb’s last days were spent making sure all of our feelings were validated. No stones left unturned, no words left unsaid and no hugs not given. Barb found pleasure in helping others and would give you the shirt off her back. She loved music and dancing. A simple “how are you?” went a long way. Her loving nurturing nature helped many in distress. We all love her and will miss her dearly. Barb is survived by her #1 buddy Hirsh (John) of Calgary; her daughter Cheyenne (Neechi) (Derek); grandson Nolan (chubby cheeks) of Steinbach, MB; mom Simone; dad Wilf of Winnipeg; sisters, Darlene (Puss), Suzanne (Suzie), Michele (Mimi) of Winnipeg, Colette (Toilette), (Chris) of Grande Pointe, MB, Lee of Winnipeg; brother Jonathan (Jon) (Joann) of Winnipeg; uncles/brothers Darrell (Daphne) of Cranberry Portage, Darcy of Altona; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces; long-time friend Michelle (Kuch) of Oakbank, MB; Stepson Shawn Harris of Winnipeg; and last but never least her street children of Calgary. Barb was predeceased by her husband Ed; stepdad Gilles (Pepe), grandma’s grandpa’s Szustygesto/Normand; uncle Mike and aunty Grace (godmother); and her good friend Wugit In living memory of Barbara Harris, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North Telephone: 403-276-2296.
