Obituary of Mark Andrew HILDEBRAND

October 28, 1960 – North Bay, Ontario May 6, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta Mark Andrew Hildebrand, age 54, of Calgary, Alberta passed away at Foothills Hospital surrounded by loved ones on May 6, 2015. Born in North Bay, Ontario on October 28, 1960, Mark was predeceased by his parents, John Hildebrand and Margaret Simpson. Mark grew up in Brandon, Manitoba. When he wasn’t hard at work as a chemical process operator at Simplot, he could be found hanging out with lifelong best friends, Rob Hay and Lawrence Aimoe. Mark will be remembered for his great sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh. Though Mark looked tough on his motorcycle, he was a real softy, always willing to help out a friend. Mark was always known as easy going with a huge heart. Since 2007, Mark has called Alberta home, where he worked in the oil sands for Shell. It was in Calgary that Mark met and fell in love with Lorna Haase. Mark and Lorna enjoyed dancing, long bike rides to the mountains and making each other happy – a skill they turned into an art form. Mark cherished the time he and Lorna spent together travelling and living life to the fullest. They had planned to wed, but the end came too soon. Mark is mourned by his loving partner, Lorna Haasse, his children, Julia (Dan), Tyler (Paige), Rose (Brandon) Hildebrand and his precious granddaughter, Sophia as well as Lorna’s children, Jennifer (Colin) Smith and Michelle Haase, all of Calgary. Mark also leaves behind his siblings, David and Sandi Hildebrand of Langley, BC, Glenn and Cindy Hildebrand of Winnipeg, Karen and Eric Dietz of Winnipeg and Barry and Anabeth Hildebrand of Vancouver. Also missed by his nephews, Geoff, Mitchell, and Bryson Dietz. Mark will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Rest now Mark, the fight is over. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life was held at McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home (Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Saturday, May 9.
