Obituary of Isaac THOMPSON

January 7, 1932 – Ardgarvan, Northern Ireland April 26, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta Isaac Thompson passed away on Sunday April 26, 2015 at the age of 83 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. He was born to the late William and Martha on January 7, 1932 in Ardgarvan, Northern Ireland. He grew up on a farm in Northern Ireland and in 1953 he immigrated to Canada when he was 21 and settled in Calgary, AB. Isaac worked for Telus Corporation and retired after twenty-six years of service. He retired to Claresholm and married Evelyn Morton. Isaac had an infectious smile and kind heart always ready to help anyone in need. He loved to travel and took many trips back to Ireland to visit family and friends. Isaac enjoyed working with his hands and dearly missed his homeland and life on the farm. As the saying goes, “you can take the boy off the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy.” Isaac had boundless energy and did everything for his family! Isaac will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Isaac is survived by his sons, Glen (Sofia) Thompson and Blair (Sandy) Thompson and their mother Joyce Morris; four grandchildren, Bradley, Kelsey, Jessie, and Jordan; numerous loving nieces and extended family and many great friends. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn in July 2014. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
