Obituary of Susan Brenda HANSEN

August, 11, 1956 – Edmonton April, 13, 2015 – Calgary How quickly our lives changed, leaving us wondering if we took your precious love for granted and didn’t return it enough. Our beautiful mother and wife left us too soon. Her never ending love for us persists, though it can no longer be expressed. The thought of no longer seeing your smile, nor feeling your embrace causes heartache and great sorrow. “When I think of my mom with all her attributes, what stands out far beyond all else is her unconditional love for family and friends. Never in my life have I ever known anyone as selfless and thoughtful as she was. I know that I will never meet anyone else who can come close.” It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the sudden passing of Susan Hansen on April 13th. Susan was born in Edmonton and worked as a legal secretary until relocating to Calgary with her husband, Harvey. Shortly after moving to Calgary, her only child, Michael, was born. Susan was an avid reader. She loved visiting friends and travelling with her family. After exploring North America, Susan ventured to South America and then visited Europe for the first time in the summer of 2012, returning to Europe again during the summer of 2014. Besides her loving husband, Harvey, and son, Michael, Susan will be missed by her sister, Patricia; brothers, Terry (Kim) and Rick; sister-in-law, Marlayne (Lionel); brothers-in-law, Ralph (Barb) and Al (Margaret); and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate doctors and nurses at the Foothills Hospital ICU for their exceptional care of Susan. At the request of the family, donations can be made directly to a charity of your choice. The memories of Susan will never fade from our thoughts and the love she spread to all of us will never leave our hearts. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date. In living memory of Susan, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. Telephone: 403-241-0044.
