Obituary of Jennie Nina SEMCHUK

July 10, 1931 – Jeziory, Grodno, Poland September 2, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta It is with great sadness we announce that our beloved mom, Jennie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Jeziory, Grodno, Poland and immigrated to Canada following WWII where she met and married Nick Semchuk in May 1950. They had three children together and lived in Taber until they moved to Calgary in 1969. Jennie worked as a short-order cook at the Carolina (Terrace) Restaurant at Chinook Centre for over fifteen years until her retirement. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake fresh homemade goodies for her family. She was always a warm and gracious host whenever company came to visit and made them feel at home. Jennie is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Susan and David Jensen, Debbie and Dave Hill; son Larry; along with eight grandchildren Daron, Darcy, Derrick, Jeremy Jensen, Tiffany Stringham, Jennifer, Shaun and Jared Hill; plus seventeen great-grandchildren. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Nick; parents Stephan and Vera; brothers George, Nick, twins Stephan and Alex; and great-grandson Evan Jensen. Jennie will be remembered as a kind, loving mother and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her family. We have all been so fortunate to have had her in our lives.
