To all Ellen’s family… so very sorry for you loss. Ellen sounds like a wonderful, caring, hard working woman, who fought for so long. Although the pain of loosing her is so real, I hope you find comfort knowing she is at peace and free from the effects of cancer. My thoughts and prayer go out to your family. Elen was a great woman. We shared many great conversations. My deepest sympathies to Oliver and her loved ones.
I was a member of the University of Calgary MBA graduating class of 1990, and although I haven’t seen Ellen since that time, I recall what a lovely lady she was — kind, pleasant, hard-working, intelligent…!! Her passing is a loss for the entire community.

GONE FROM MY SIGHT
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, “There, she is gone”
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me — not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,”
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”
you’re such a good & loving person…. I will miss you Ninang Auntie…. You will be loved forever…

I am so sorry to hear about Ellen. She worked for me as a pharmacist prior to opening her own pharmacy at the Dermatology Centre. She was always so reliable and helpful. I was not aware that she was ill and so sorry to hear about her passing. My condolences to the family.
