Obituary of Mary-Jane Triston JACOBS

Mary-Jane Jacobs of Tsuu T’ina Nation, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the age of 17 years. She had a very caring and brave soul; she demonstrated this to her last breath and will always be remembered as a hero. She was the first grandchild and was the oldest of her six younger sisters and brothers whom she loved dearly. She was a very gifted artist who loved to draw, paint and bead. She expressed her creative personality through her unique style.
Mary-Jane is survived by her parents Charlene and Denver Jacobs; her sisters Niaomi (Terrance), Ayla, Maria and Peyton; brothers Denver Jr. and Ethan; grandparents Leonard and Pauline Jacobs, Christine (Hank) Alfred and Russell (Margaret) Casimer; great-uncle/grandpa Leonard Alfred; great-aunt Margaret LaRose; uncles Kendall (Gail), Tobias (Robbie) and Callen (Toni) Jacobs, Jordan, Terrance, Sheldon and Skylar Casimer; aunties Sonya (Perry) Alfred, Sylvia Casimer. Godparents Shareef Yellow Horn and Jodi Meguinis; special friends Hayley Meguinis, Jericho, Bluerock and William Jacobs, Pierce Big Plume, Tia, Will, Jayden, Coy Big Crow, Roman, Dhillon, Ronald Starlight, Deneah, Hannah, Jeremy Big Plume and Nicholas Onespot. Many more aunties, uncles, cousins from Alfred Family, Casimer Family, Jacobs Family, Meguinis Family and Two Guns Family.
She was predeceased by her grandpas Nelson, Harry, and Bill Jacobs, grandma Judy Doore, great-grandpas Amook Casimer, Harold Crowchild and Dave Jacobs; great-grandmas Christine Casimer, Mary Louise Alfred, Jenny Naziel, Helen Meguinis and Margaret Jacobs; great-aunt Anne Meguinis; uncle Dave Moosewaypayo, cousins Lance Dodginghorse and Theoren Meguinis.
The family would like to thank the first responders and support team who assisted with our beloved Mary-Jane. The family apologizes for anyone we may have missed.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Leonard and Pauline Jacobs, 898 Six Mile Coulee Road, Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB on Monday, March 9 at 3:00 p.m. and continue onto Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (3700 Anderson Road S.W.) on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
