Obituary of Aimee Jane LEWIS

April 13, 1988– Calgary, Alberta August 12, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta With heavy hearts, the family of Aimee Jane Lewis announces her sudden passing on the morning of Sunday, August 12, 2018 in Calgary, AB at the age of 30 years. Known for her adoration of the outdoors and animals, Aimee is lovingly remembered by her parents Andrea and Roger McLaren (Didsbury, AB), her father Derek and his wife Christine Lewis (Bassano, AB), and Phil and Sheri Anderson (Nanaimo, BC). She was a loving and devoted sister to siblings Aaron, Aiden, Jordan, Brendan, Jackson, Kelsi and Chase. Aimee will also be missed and remembered by many other family members and friends whose lives she so dearly touched. Aimee leaves us to be reunited with her twin sister, Alisha Ann Lewis, who passed away in 2010 and her Nanas Judith Whittaker (2011) and Joyce McLaren (2010), and great-grandmothers Doris Belchamber (2012) and Mary Freelove (2011). Selflessly committed to the needs of others, Aimee volunteered on medical teams deployed to provide emergency support in Fort McMurray after the wildfires, and again in Haiti after the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew. Since that time, she had been pursuing her degree in nursing while working as an LPN at Alberta Children’s Hospital. Born on April 13, 1988 in Calgary, AB, Aimee matured into a beautiful, caring, young woman with a zest for life and an infectious laugh that still resonates in the hearts of those who had the fortune of knowing her. “Could we see when and where we are to meet again, we would be more tender when we bid our friends goodbye.” ~Ovid Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY () on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
