Obituary of Anne Violet MACHOWSKI

June 27, 1931 – Coleman, Alberta January 12, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta With great sadness we announce the passing of Anne Machowski, our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother at the Chinook Care Center on January 12, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Anne was born and raised in Coleman, AB where she met her husband Joseph in 1948. Anne and Joseph were married on February 6, 1949 and resided in Coleman for four years. In May 1953, the family moved to Calgary. As soon as all their children were in school, Anne enrolled in a dressmaking course at SAIT and became a wonderful seamstress. In the early 1970’s, she purchased Club Crest Jackets. One of her greatest satisfactions at Club Crest was sewing eight hundred and fifty jackets for the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Anne was very active in the S.P.K and the Polish Church. If she wasn’t in the hall kitchen cooking, she and Joseph were enjoying themselves on the dance floor. Anne will be remembered for her warmth and hospitality. She was a fabulous cook, loved gardening, and excelled at a variety of crafts. Anne is survived by her three children Terry (Donna) Machowski, Donna-Marie Machowski, Rita (Grant) Charlebois; four grandchildren Paul (Jennifer) Charlebois, Stephen Machowski, Laura (Derek) Armstrong, Robert Charlebois; three great-grandchildren, Owen Charlebois, Emma and Abigail Armstrong. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph in1998; sister Mary Tomala; and brother Bruno Kuchtyn. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 7:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Graveside Service to follow in St. Joseph’s Section at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
