Obituary of Elizabeth DOCHERTY

July 3, 1927 – Clydebank, Scotland December 29, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Docherty of Calgary, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully on December 29th. Betty is survived by her six daughters, two sons, three sons-in-law, fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased in 1969 by her husband Simon Docherty, in 1971 by her mother, Elizabeth Wright and in 1942 by her father, Arthur Wright. Betty, Simon and their two children emigrated from Scotland to Toronto in 1952 eventually settling in Calgary in 1954. Betty, who taught in the Calgary Separate School District for thirty-three years, retired in 1987. A funeral mass with reception to follow will be held on Friday, January 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.)
