Obituary of David PREECE
May 21, 1946 – December 25, 2014
It is with great sadness that the family of David Preece announces his passing on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the age of 68 years, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Dave was born in Felixstowe, England, where, at a young age, he became the chief engineer on the trawlers that fished on the North Sea. He married his wife Yvette in 1969 and the pair immigrated to Canada in 1976, settling first in Toronto before relocating to Calgary.
In Canada Dave had a long and successful career in architectural drafting and information technology, and was principal of MicroCal.ca. His passions included technology, sailing, current events, and animals.
David is survived by his wife Yvette; son Andrew (Amanda); and his siblings, Ann (Ian) of New Zealand and John (Josephine) of Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
