Condolences
Indeed we will all miss Larry’s charm and wit. We all sat in awe as he recited his “Party Piece”. Larry also had the magic to turn a bad round of golf into a hilarious escapade.
Condolences to Larry’s family.

Larry added so much to the life at the Beverly—we will never be the same and will miss his sense of humor and jovial voice. I was priviledged to get to know him and will miss him but treasue the memories.
Sincere sympathy to all the Austin family on the death of Larry. We became very good friends about ten years ago when he came to Ireland to film. I visited him and Mary in Calgary the following year and always felt a huge closeness. Larry was such a wonderful character and a truly charming man. My life was fuller for having known him and I will miss that very special voice of his all the way from Canada to Ireland. Slan my friend – with loving thoughts

For Larry’s boy’s and their families.
We met and knew Larry and Mary through St. Marks Catholic church. He volunteered with us for St. Vinicent DePaul society until his knees were too bad for him to negotiate stairs. Larry’s wit and good humor could always be found when we managed to get him away from his many fans at church. We were luck enough to see him act in the play “The night Paddy Murphy died” and were regaled by many storied and jokes. We did have him to our home for a supper and I took him out for lunch a few times so we could share some good food, a few Guinness’, many good stories and I’m sure a couple of good ‘lies”! He was kind and gentle with me and my family and we loved him very much. He always had an eye for a pretty girl and his charm and warm smile always attracted their attention. He told me more than once to keep an eye on my daughter as “soon” the boys would be calling. He told me she was growing into a beautiful young woman, he said he had an eye for that type of thing…….
The last time I saw Larry I picked him up from the assisted living complex and as I helped him into the car and was loading his walker he continued to entertain me with jokes and stories. We enjoyed a good meal not far away and of course shared a few beers and many stories. We shared our struggles with each other and had about as complete a visit as two men of differing ages can have. I’m am very saddened that he is no longer with us for a very selfish reason, I can no longer revel in the joy of his presence.
Our family offers our condolences with our belief that he is in a better place with the people that have loved him in his past.

I knew Larry over the years when he was in the lighting business, and Liffy as well as the ICS. We did enjoy a wee Bushmills from time to time. Larry and I enjoyed discussions of N. Ireland, and had a great respect for each other. Lost touch over the years, but we will miss him. I sincerely offer respects to his family and friends.

What a great man Larry Austin was. He was loved by many and we all thought we were his “special” friend. He was a wonderful entertainer, recitations, jokes, singing, playing the banjo, acting in plays etc. That impish wee face with the sparkling blue eyes will never be forgotten. He loved Mary and his 4 boys , his eyes would light up when he talked about them. Larry was a kind, gentle soul and he will be remembered with great fondness by our family.
