Obituary of Lea TYLER

October 19, 1922 – November 30, 2014 Mrs. Lea Tyler passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the age of 92, after a long and valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s. Predeceased by her beloved husband Ron in 1985, she will be deeply missed by her only daughter, Barbara and son-in-law Ken Jones of Calgary; her two loving grandchildren: Christopher Jones and his wife Elizabeth of Yorkshire, England; Sarah and her husband Dana Pierson of North Carolina, USA and by her five precious great-grandchildren: Dominic, Katherine and Madeline Jones and Sophie and Chloe Pierson. Lea was the last surviving sibling of the six children of David and Gesia Waiman of the Ukraine and Israel. After spending most of her married years in England, Lea moved to Calgary in 1998 when she was 75 to be closer to her family. She loved her new life in Canada and made friends easily, always seeing the good in those around her. Lea was loved by family and friends alike for her outgoing nature, boundless energy and positive attitude towards life. The family would like to give thanks to Lea’s family Doctor, Dr. Catherine Heaton for her considerate care over the years and to Lea’s good friend and caregiver, Susan Haberer, for looking after her and our family so well for the past eight years. Thank you also to the staff at Symphony Senior Living, Evergreen and more recently to the staff at The Beverly Centre, Glenmore, in particular the Bayview Unit, for their kindness and compassion towards Lea in her final years and especially during her last days. Sleep well, dear Mum; you will never be forgotten. A private family service will be held and a celebration of Lea’s life will take place at a later date.
