Obituary of Christine Lee SHARP

How do you write about someone so special and so inspirational to her family and friends. Her passion for life started really early. I remember when we were very young, always playing house outside, singing Christmas Carol’s door to door, hide and go seek for hours with friends and even one of her favorite pastimes holding a séance with the candles flickering. Horseback riding almost every weekend for those of you who remember Happy Valley, these were all fun and memorable times. Her first vacation with her best friend Natasha was to England, one of her highlights of her childhood and of course being 10 years old came back with 6” platform shoes, (which of course at that time was extremely funny). Christine’s teenage years brought a lot of happiness as she graduated with honors, but also seen sorrow as she lost her first love in an accident. Her 20’s seen her married, divorced and spreading her wings into her career where she met and made some wonderful friends. Her love for life kept her strong through many operations and time spent in the hospital due to her illness. She was never one to complain as she was full of integrity and spunk. By the time she was 30, Christine met a wonderful man Kelly. These two would become soul mates and inseparable, (you know the kind two peas nesting on one pod), raising together a loving family with 2 beautiful boys Aaron and Justin. She was ever happy with Kelly. Telling him what to do, where to go, what they needed all in good fun but without conviction, and as we know Christine, she is looking down on Kelly and still making sure he will be ok. Strength was her and she needed all her strength for everything she had to endure in life. Her family was her life between fabulous trips to Las Vegas where Kelly and her spent much of their time playing Keno (and they always won I might add) to their memorable trip to Disneyland with the boys. How they all enjoyed fishing and being on the lake catching all kinds of fish. As Christine grew with her family and friends, so did another illness, one that she would battle till the end, being a fighter she never thought she would lose. Her courage, and commitment to her family never wavered, throughout all her stays at the hospital, operation after operation her ability to hold on to life so dearly and except again another challenge just showed her love of life. Her lasting impression on all young and old alike will take with them memories of her inspiration and her laughter that she so enjoyed right to the end as she was determined to make her 51st birthday. Christine will always be remembered for the warmth and generosity, her selflessness and her brilliance along with her optimism. Her laughter still can and will be heard for many years to come. As we all know, Christine was the biggest Flames fan and request your attendance at McInnis and Holloway Funeral Chapel Located at: 5388 Memorial Drive NE Calgary, AB on October 03, 2014 at 1:30pm. “Please wear anything related to the Calgary Flames” Lara Sigurdsen will be holding a lovely family and friends gathering after the Chapel ceremony located at 171 Westcreek Meadow, Chestermere, AB.
