Obituary of Heidi Hilda Patricia Denise PITTMAN (nee Murray)

August 10, 1953 – St. John’s, NL

September 26, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Heidi Hilda Patricia Denise Pittman beloved wife of Russell Pittman of Calgary, AB passed away at home in the presence of her family on Friday, September 26, 2014, at the age of 61 years.

Heidi was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and teacher formerly of Freshwater, Placentia Bay Newfoundland. In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, her passion was to teach her ‘angels’ for over 36 years in Newfoundland and Alberta. Heidi was a mentor and avid reader and loved her travels and adventures with her husband Russ. Along her journey in life, Heidi was a trusted friend who shared her laughter and humour, along with her spirit and compassion to all.

Leaving with treasured memories are her loving husband and best friend Russell; her beautiful daughters Holly (Neil Greene) and Heidi (Trevor Rideout); her precious grandchildren Aidan and Maeve and her canine companion Alley. She also leaves her loving and caring sisters Ce-Ann (John Maher) and Daphne (Maurice Bavis); her large circle of nieces and nephews; as well her lifelong friend Evelyn Maher and members of the Pittman family.

Heidi was predeceased by her parents Harry and Hilda Murray; her sister Maureen Myers; her parents-in-law Cyril and Lorraine Pittman and the recent passing of brother-in-laws Gordon and Kevin Pittman.

A Celebration of Heidi’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to her last adventure home to Placentia, NL where she will be resting at Maher’s Funeral Home, Placentia, NL. Further details will be available once the family’s travel arrangements have been made. A Graveside Service to follow in Newfoundland.

Flowers gratefully accepted, or donations can be made to the Gordon Pittman Math Bursary, at the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
