Obituary of Emily Alice NIXON

Emily Alice Nixon passed away at Southwood Care Centre on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
Emily was born in Chester, England on February 21, 1919. She lived her childhood in Duffield and her adult life in Red Deer and Calgary. Emily married Jay Nixon, and had many wonderful years together until Jay’s passing in 1979. Emily was a kind and gentle women who will he remembered for her strong Christian values, quality crocheted afghans, healthy home cooking and love for family and friends.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Wayne and Ken (Patty); daughters, Joy (Bob) and Audrey; grandsons, Doug, Ryan (Crystel), Dennis (Megan), Bryce, Jeff (Sol) and Craig (Kelly); granddaughters, Rhonda, Christina (Don), Carla (Kim), Teresa (Mike), Katlyn (Kevin), Kyla, Kate, Tabitha (Jeremy), Kimberley, Amber (Paul), Hannah, Elizabeth, Skyler and Gracie; great-grandsons, Joshua, Caleb, Jacob, Daniel, Job, Cole, Arlynd, Chase, Lane and James; great-granddaughters, Emily, Evie, Janie and Gracie; As well as her brother Derek (Esther), and sisters, Nancy and Lois. Emily was predeceased by her husband Robert Jay Nixon, parents, Mable and Carl; brother Carl, and sisters, Lena and Hilda.
A Celebration of Emily’s life will be held at Southview Alliance Church (20200 Walden Boulevard S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Church. Graveside Service to be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (4th Street at 31st Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com
