Obituary of Real Sean HOEY

 May 26, 1972 – High Prairie, Alberta            

October 24, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Real Hoey, beloved husband of Alana Eastgaard of Calgary, passed away on Thursday October 24, 2019 at the age of 47 years.

Real was born in High Prairie, Alberta on May 26, 1972. He moved to Calgary, Alberta  in 1980. Real graduated from Bishop Carroll High School in 1990. He married Alana Eastgaard December 24, 2009 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Real was a member of Grande Prairie figure skating club. He was also a reserve member of The Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. Real accomplished much in his life and was particularly  proud of the birth of his son in 2001. He had a great passion for many things including fishing, golfing, camping, sports, travel and NFL Sundays.

One of Real's favorite quotes was "To be or not to be/that is the question", Soliloquy from Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

Besides his loving wife Alana, Real is survived by his only son Ash, his mom Helen, father Clark (Australia), mothers-in-law Leslie and Carolyn; father-in-law Bill, and grandma Lea. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Leigh and Leeanne, Kevin, Rae-Lene and Shawn; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, extended family and his many friends. Real was predeceased by his father-in-law Wayne.

A Celebration of Real’s Life will be held at MCKENZIE TOWNE HALL (40 McKenzie Towne Blvd SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Donations in Real's memory may be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association, www.cmha.calgary.ab.ca, or the Alberta Fish and Game Association - Wildlife Trust or Conservation Education, www.afga.org/donate-directly-to-afga/.
