To my Papa! I am so deeply saddened of your departure from us. You definitely did not deserve this suffering. I take peace in knowing you are with your best friends and family now and making them as happy as you made us here. I especially take peace in knowing you are no longer suffering. You are so amazingly strong and fought each step of the way. Your love for your family and friends and passion for food, wine and a good time will live through us always. Thank you for being my rock and support system. As we laid you to rest last week, we are now left with all the broken pieces to put together, answering the endless questions from Chloe and Mateo and making sure Mom is ok. John and La Trattoria gave our family years of happy memories. Until the restaurant was sold our family spent every birthday and family celebration at La Trattoria. Everyone there was so good to us and always treated us like family. So much so that we were allowed to bring our own special birthday cakes in and store them in La Trattorias fridge until after our meal. It was such a sad day for our family when La Trattoria closed down and no other place has been able to replace it. The same should be said about John. It breaks my heart that you are without such an important part of your family...one nobody can replace. Thank you for sharing your husband and father with us and other patrons for so many years. John built quite a legacy and brought so many smiles to so many people's faces.
