'Don’t Mourn My Death, Celebrate My Life’

All is well with my soul and now the time has come for Jesus to take me home.

Albert (Bert) Tysowski was born in Veregin, SK and lived on the family farm until they moved to Kamsack, SK where he spent his childhood.  Bert spent two years in the army then joined the Calgary Police Service where he spent twenty-three years, retiring in 1988.

In 1976 he met Laura, the love of his life and the rest is history.
In 1985 Bert received The Governor General of Canada - Police Exemplary Service Medal.  In 1986 he entered the 2nd Annual North American Police Winter Olympics in California and won two Gold medals and one silver medal in Super G and giant slalom events. Skiing was one of his loves, wife and family another, as was fishing, gold panning (he owned a claim north of Revelstoke), camping at the claim and in Nordegg, curling, cooking, relaxing around the fire pit, traveling the world, cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, and always enjoying his white Bacardi rum.

Bert is survived by his precious and loving wife Laura (nee Blasetti), his children Michelle (Gareth) Joels and Robin (Lisa) Meville; and four beautiful grandchildren, James, Keira, Aaric and Aleigha.  Also left to remember Bert are his brothers-in-law Guy (Joan), Raymond, Andrew (Connie), Ernest (Bev), Philip (Linda) Blasetti and  Joe Manna; as well as his sister-in-law Patricia (Steven) Kiss and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bert was predeceased by his parents Mary and John, his sister and brother-in-law Joan and William Hryhoriw and his great niece Nicole.  He was also predeceased by his father and mother-in-law Guido and Julie Blasetti, brother-in-law Mark Blasetti, and sisters-in-law Frances Manna and Terry Blasetti.
