Condolences
My heart is broken in the loss of a friend.
I met Gwen four years ago while walking by the bow river with my Standard Poodles (had 2 at the time) which caught Gwen’s eye immediately. My poodles reminded her of ones she once had. Gwen and I became very good friend and met up for walks. We would go for car rides and she loved the way Lincoln would kiss her from the back seat.
After I lost Shelby Gwen would beg me to watch Lincoln. She broke me down one day and I let her watch Lincoln for the day. She was so happy. Lincoln is a big boy and I worried if he would be too much for her. Well she corrected me on that. It was no problem at all. She loved this big boy and he loved her.
Many time we would meet up for walks and or have a glass of wine and cookies. Gwen you will be dearly missed in our heart. Great Friend indeed! Love you
I have known Gwen for over 30 years as neighbours in Pt. McKay and then as golfing buddies and friends. Her favourite golf course was Kananaski Ranch as she called it. She followed Brooke on the LPGA and of course Tiger Woods all his golfing career. Gwen and I went out for lunch every couple of weeks and she had very definite likes; her favorite being Red Lobster for fish & chips and a glass of Zinfadel. She liked watching ice skating and tennis and football and Coronation Street on TV and never phone her when her programs were on! We exchanged lots of mystery novels and jigsaw puzzles over the years. Lots of funny, good, happy memories. But most of all Gwen loved her home, her garden and her river walks with both human and doggy friends meeting lots of people on those walks. Though her stay on this earth was cut short suddenly, I will always be thankful she never had to move away from her home. Gwen was her own private person and a friend who will forever be greatly missed. God bless you Qwen.

We have many wonderful memories of Gwen. She was funny, feisty and always her own person. Good times on the golf course boy you had better play fast. Coming with Harold and I to the ranch to see his horse, and dressing for the occasion in jeans and boots. We feel blessed to have known her.
Rest in peace, my dear,
Harold and Penny Edwards
Gwen, also called Gwenny-Gwen by our family, was a most wonderful and deeply caring friend to our family, for thirty one years. We will miss seeing and being with Gwen on the river path, our frequent telephone chats, and the chance to convince her to come to our home for impromptu or arranged visits. Jock, our dog, counted himself as lucky as we did, to be with Gwen too.
The void that Gwen has left in our lives will never be filled, but we will cherish forever, our happiest memories of our most dear friend. May Gwen Rest In Peace, after a life she loved until very recently.
Our Sincerest Sympathy to the Turner Families, as they mourn the loss of their Aunt and Great Aunt.

We have many fond memories of our dear friend Gwen. We first met 13 years ago while walking our dog Macgregor along the river in Point McKay. She asked to pat him and gave Mac a treat. From then on his love and our friendship for Gwen grew. She looked after Macgregor on several occasions because she loved dogs so much. We spent many afternoons having coffee (or wine) and dessert; usually shortbread cookies. We talked about every topic imaginable: politics, sports, entertainment and our canine friends. Gwen's sense of humour always made us laugh. We also enjoyed spending time together at Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. Day trips in and around Calgary and dining at our favourite eateries were special times throughout the year too. We even convinced Gwen to join us on a trip to Arizona one spring. She loved to golf and unlike others she counted every stroke. Gwen will be in our hearts forever. Our deepest condolences to the family.
