Obituary of Thomas (Tom) Gordon KENNEDY

Thomas (Tom) Gordon Kennedy of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 96 years.

Tom was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a professional hockey player with the Washington Lions of the EHL in 1945/1946. He then played seven seasons with the Harringay Racers of the British National League, during which time he met his wife Betty.  Following his professional career, Tom attended Michigan Tech in Houghton from 1955 – 1959 where he captained the Huskies’ hockey and golf teams, lettering in both sports, and graduated with a degree in Geological Engineering. Upon graduation, Tom and Betty took up permanent residence in Calgary. Tom continued his love of golf as a long-time member of the Canyon Meadows Golf Club.  

Thomas is survived by his brother Charles (Chuck) Kennedy of Comox, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Gwendolyn (Betty) in 2009, brother John Kennedy, and sister Dorothy Jespersen.
