Obituary of Yvonne WHITFIELD

September 10, 1942 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan         

November 21, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta  

Yvonne passed away peacefully with her children at her bedside, the morning of Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 77 years. With great sadness we watched her take her last breath, but rejoiced knowing that her struggle was finally over and heaven awaited her. She will be dearly missed.  We told her to say “hello” to Dad and give him a big hug for us.

Yvonne was born on September 10, 1942 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.  She was raised with a brother, Delmar, and two sisters; Mavis and Cheryl.  Yvonne began her Christian walk at a young age and pursued it diligently until the very end.  She was a stay-at-home mom who helped her children with their newspaper routes and took them to music lessons.

After her children were older, she entered the work force in the insurance industry and did so until retirement.  Yvonne had a deep passion for motorcycles and travelled thousands of miles throughout Canada and the United States.  She was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association for many years and was involved in its many charity works.

She was predeceased by her husband, Warren; and is survived by their children; Arlus and Barbara, Aurilee and Darren; and grandchildren, Ms Jordan and her fiancé Jeremy, Aaron, Conner, Zachery and Olivia. Yvonne and the family would like to thank all the friends who supported her during these last difficult months.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Airdrie, 300 Towerlane Drive) on Thursday, November, 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home .
