Obituary of Pamela Margaret RODE (nee Stapleton)

After a long and interesting life Pamela Margaret Rode passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the age of 90 years.

Pamela was born in Baldock, Hertfordshire, England. Soon after she was born the family moved to Hitchin, Hertfordshire, where she lived until she moved to Canada in April 1954. Six days after her arrival she married Alfred, whom she had met in England. The marriage took place in St. Mark’s Church in Longueuil, QC. They settled in Quebec, initially in Longueuil, and later in St. Bruno, where they spent most of their working life until they moved to Alberta in 1997. Pamela was a very active person, enjoyed sports such as golfing, cross country skiing, line dancing, and bowling. Before coming to Canada she was also an accomplished tennis player. She will be sorely missed.

Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Alfred.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
