Obituary of Shantelle Anna-Marie PROCHAZKA (Roberts)

It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved daughter and loving mother, Shantelle Anna-Marie Prochazka on Saturday, November 30, 2019; she was 18 years and 10 months old.

Born in Calgary at the Foothills Medical Centre, she was the third child of Mirek Prochazka and Shannon Roberts. Shantelle grew up in Bowness and she was filled with love and laughter that filled any room she was in.  She enjoyed spending time with all of her many friends but especially loved spending time with her family. Weekends were for friends, and Shantelle was blessed with many friends from all walks of life.  Friday nights started at Grandpa’s where family and friends would drop in and laugh and joke into the night.  She was very social, spending time with her friends and making sure that everyone was having a great time.  Shantelle gained a new focus in her life with the birth of her son, Maverick. She began to look to the future, and her son was the light in her eyes and the focus of her life.  Maverick brought Peace and Joy into Shantelle’s life and when Shantelle was in her darkest hours, Maverick raised her up and set her free. Shantelle had a strong will, to which all her family and friends can attest. It was this strength of will that brought both laughter and tears into the lives of all who knew her.  Arguments with her brother were fierce, almost as fierce as her love and loyalty to him.  She loved her brother Jordon and was the first to defend him from anyone who said anything against him.  Jordon loved his sister just a fiercely and until Maverick came along, no boy was quite good enough for his sister.  But Shantelle’s best friends in the world were her Mother and Father. Anyone who came to Grandpa John’s on a Friday night would not get a word in edgewise once Mirek and Shantelle got rolling, and when Shannon and Grandpa John joined in the laughter was never ending.  Shantelle gained new focus in this last year, with life goals set to return to school, build a career, and build a life for herself and Maverick.  Sadly, these plans will never be realized as her life was so tragically cut short.

She was predeceased by her brother Cody, and leaves to mourn her passing her son, Maverick Cody Bolcsfoldy (Brett), her mother Shannon Roberts, her father Mirek Prochazka, brother Jordon Prochazka, grandparents John and Janice Roberts, and Anna Prochazka; great grandmother Maria Zuehlke, Auntie Kim, Auntie Jill, Auntie Stephanie, Uncle David (Courtney), Uncle Roman, Uncle James, Cousin Kayja, Cousin Mikey, Cousin Jessie, and Cousin Troy (Amber), and too many friends to mention.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
