Judy CARTER (nee Sillifant)

Obituary of Judy Mildred CARTER (nee Sillifant)

Judy Carter (nee Sillifant) of Calgary, AB passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 59 years.

Judy was born in Sudbury, ON, on October 21, 1960 and was the oldest daughter of Norman and Betty Sillifant.  Her independence and drive had her graduating from Northern College of Applied Arts in Business Administration and heading West in 1980 at the age of 20 to start her business career.

Judy was vivacious, compassionate, caring, witty, fun loving, family orientated and had a great sense of adventure. Her adventures with her sons, family and friends, still bring many smiles and laughter to all.

Judy accomplished so much through her life and was particularly proud of her two Sons, Zachary and Will. She was also a very successful businesswoman, starting and running two franchises in the health and wellness industry. She was a member of Entrepreneurs Organization, and later joined T.E.C Canada. In addition to helping others in the business world, Judy was also on the Executive Board of Directors for the Distress Centre Calgary, and held annual charity drives through her business to support Jacket Racket, Neighborhood Link, Children’s Cottage, Calgary Food Bank, Unwed Mothers and the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Judy loved her family, friends and music. She enjoyed golfing at her cabin in Hidden Valley, being a hockey mom to her sons, and entertaining friends and family whenever possible. Her guiding principle through her life was to always give back.

Judy was an avid traveller; her most memorable vacation was when she went to Paris with her Sister Barb and Mother Betty. They enjoyed the French food, sights and many laughs. Her love for travel led her to Costa Rica, where she found a piece of land to build her dream home.

Judy is survived by her two sons, Zach Carter (Sierra Steinback) and Will Carter (Katie Willoughby) of Calgary, AB; her parents, Norman and Betty Sillifant of St. Catherines, ON; her sisters and their children, Barb Tudino (Bruno Marques), Toronto, ON, Karen (Gary) Allen, Edmonton, AB, Athena, DJ, Jade Tudino and Scot and Marisa (Mik Feldman) Allen. Her former spouse, Ken Carter, and loved dearly by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
